  • Concurrent Enrollment allows high school students to take college classes for credit, and their high school pays the tuition. 
  •  It can be taught on college or high school campuses. 
  • Students must qualify (meet pre-req's). 
  • Students may take up to 11 credit hours per semester.


  • Dual enrollment is a class that uses school district curriculum approved by an Institute of Higher Education (IHE). 
  • Students can opt-in-class is a mixture of students taking the class for dual and others taking it solely for high school credit. 
  • The student pays for tuition. 
  • Always taught on the high school campus.


  • Affiliated with the College Board
  • Typically a score of 3+ will accumulate college credit
    • Depends on the Institute of Higher Education (IHE).
  • Eligibility for weighted credit on high school transcript:
    • Grade of A, B, or C
    • Complete both semesters AND take AP exam.


  • The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course.
  • Affiliated with the College Board
  • CLEP offers 30+ exams.
  • Most exams are 90 minutes
  • Accepted > 2900 colleges
